NIHR Chairperson’s Statement on the 25th Anniversary of the Supreme Council for Women
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), congratulated Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), the members of the Council, and Bahraini women on the occasion of the Supreme Council for Women’s Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years since its establishment. He praised the significant achievements made throughout this journey, which have contributed to advancing the rights of Bahraini women and strengthening their status and role as active partners in the Kingdom’s comprehensive development.
Alderazi affirmed that this occasion represents a significant national milestone reflecting the progress achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in advancing women’s rights and consolidating the principles of equality and equal opportunities, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the continued support of the Government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The NIHR Chairperson also commended the pioneering role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa in leading the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women, which over the past quarter-century have contributed to advancing the rights of Bahraini women and enhancing their participation across various fields and in decision-making positions. He affirmed that the achievements of Bahraini women at the national, regional, and international levels reflect the success of national efforts to support their advancement, reiterating NIHR’s full support for these efforts to safeguard women’s gains and further strengthen their role as key partners in Bahrain’s development and prosperity.
